Microsoft today released Skype 2.9 for the Windows Phone 8 platform, an update that carries with it several new features. With Skype 2.9, users can now filter their contact lists to more easily see all their contacts, just their Skype contacts, or only which contacts are available. The new Skype also makes adjustments to the home screen. For example, Favorite Contacts tiles are now smaller so more are visible on the screen at one time. The app also makes several performance improvements. Skype 2.9 is free to download from the Windows Phone Store.
