Facebook recently indicated that it has agreed to acquire Mobile Technologies, a Pittsburgh-based app maker that specializes in voice and speech recognition technology. Mobile Technologies offered a free mobile app called Jibbigo, which was able to automatically translate between 20 different languages. "Voice technology has become an increasingly important way for people to navigate mobile devices and the web," said Facebook Management Director Tom Stocky. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
