Apple has acquired a small company called Matcha.tv for an undisclosed sum. Matcha.tv is a content aggregation company that helps people find video content from a variety of different sources. It functions similar to the viewdini application that Verizon Wireless puts on its Android smartphones. Apple did not say what it plans to do with Matcha.tv, other than to confirm that it acquires small firms from time to time. According to Matcha.tv, Apple has shut down the existing Matcha.tv service and purged all customer data.
