Google Buys Bump

Bump today indicated that it has been acquired by Google. Bump developed a smartphone application that let people share information by bumping their devices together. Bump didn't use near-field communications, but instead relied on sensors and wireless networks to exchange data between smartphones. Bump CEO David Lieb said that the application will continue to be available "for now." Google has not said what it intends to do with Bump, its technology, or its team.

interesting

I could be wrong, but I believe this is the same company that makes the iPhone app that has iPhone users pretending they don't miss NFC. If that is the case it would be funny to see Google discontinue the app, though very evil in my mind.
