Twitter Pushing Recommended Tweets to Mobile Users
Sep 25, 2013, 7:36 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Twitter recently unveiled a new feature that it hopes will help users discover more engaging content. Moving forward, Android and iOS device owners can expect to receive push notifications that recommend specific tweets or users. The service is smart enough to see when multiple people in a given user's stream follow the same person, or favorite/retweet a specific tweet. The notifications arrive in the form of a direct message. According to Twitter, the feature can be disabled in the settings menu. The new recommendations feature is being rolled out to users now, but Twitter didn't provide any sort of timeframe for its arrival.
