Google Makes It Easier to Email Google+ Contacts

Google today announced a change to Gmail that will improve users' ability to reach others. Gmail users will now be able to send emails to people they've added to their Google+ circles even if they don't have the actual email address. Gmail will auto-suggest Google+ contacts when users create new email messages. On the flip side, this means people who've circled you on Google+ will be able to email you directly even if you've never given them your email address. Google is baking in some privacy controls, however, and will allow Gmail and Google+ users to opt out of this auto-suggest feature. The change is being rolled out to all Gmail and Google+ users over the next few days. Users will receive an email explaining the new feature with a link to the appropriate settings tools.

Google today announced a major new feature of Android Auto: the ability for electric vehicles to share real-time battery information with Google Maps running on your phone. With this update, Google Maps will be able to "provide your estimated battery level upon arrival at your destination, suggest charging stops along the way and even estimate how long charging will take based on your vehicle."

Apple today launched Apple Intelligence, its big generative AI effort. Apple Intelligence focuses on personalized on-device AI, but also includes a limited cloud component for more advanced requests, and the option to use OpenAI's ChatGPT for certain types of requests.

bull crap

I'm usually on board with the lengths Google goes to integrate everything, but this one is big time bull crap. I'll be opting out as soon as the email reaches my inbox.

I thought the same till I read the email, only people who follows me can only send me an email, without getting my email address. They will only get my email once I respond to the email, and vice versa. This helps a lot with school I don't have all my...
