Qualcomm today announced that it has purchased a number of patents from HP. The purchase includes about 1,400 patents and patents pending in the U.S., and another 1,000 patents and patents pending outside the U.S. According to Qualcomm, the patents pertain to mobile operating technologies and cover many of the patents HP acquired when it bought Palm. Qualcomm says the acquisition will help it offer "even more value" to its licensees. Neither Qualcomm nor HP put a dollar value on the patents.

Interesting

I know Qualcomm manufactures mobile hardware but not necessarily phones. I wonder if Qualcomm will do anything with those patents towards reviving Palm? It's very unlikely but it would be really cool to see another competing OS.
For real you want to see another one?
You can't be serious, we have 5 main ones, 3 in the pipes coming to marker soon, and one dozen of android folks,
And you want one another one?

🤨
...
I'm pretty sure they'd mostly be interested in some obscure portion of the patents, possibly some kind of processor modification/design that palm was using/developing.
