Google today provided an update to the iOS version of its Google Wallet and Google Maps applications. The changes to the Wallet app mirror those provided to the Android version last week. Google Wallet for iOS enables notifications from nearby merchants. The push notifications pop up to let users know when loyalty-based sales are available. Wallet makes adding loyalty programs easier via scanning the associated loyalty card. The app also makes several general performance improvements. Google also pushed out a minor update to Maps for iOS that enables real-time alerts when a faster route becomes available during navigation. Both Google Wallet and Google Maps are free to download from the iTunes App Store.
