Facebook Messenger Bulked Up with More Media Powers
Apr 28, 2014, 1:55 PM by Eric M. Zeman
Facebook today rolled out an update to its iOS Facebook Messenger application with significant improvements. The app is now able to send videos directly from the camera roll, and will instantly playback videos received in conversation threads. The app makes it easier to send photos directly from a conversation, and also adds shortcuts to stickers, improved search, and other performance improvements. Facebook indicated the same changes will be available to its Android app soon. Facebook recently indicated it will soon remove messaging functionality from the Facebook Mobile app in favor of the stand-alone Facebook Messenger application. Today's update sets the stage for that switch to take place.
