Google today updated Maps for both Android and iOS devices and added several new features. Maps integrates with Uber (if installed), and can be used to compare route options. When using turn-by-turn navigation, Maps now shows the distance and arrival time, and provides quick access to alternate routes. Maps now allows users to save maps to custom lists for offline use. (Nokia's HERE Maps has allowed offline map use for more than a year.) When using transit, Maps shows the next scheduled bus or train, as well as total walking times. Last, users who sign in can see places for which they've searched recently in a "Places to Review" screen. Google Maps is free to download from the Google Play Store and iTunes App Store.
