Android Apps to Function on Chrome Devices
Jun 25, 2014, 1:16 PM by Eric M. Zeman
As part of its I/O keynote, Google said that Android applications are coming to its Chrome platform. Chrome is Google's browser and the operating system for its own Chromebooks and Chromeboxes. Chromebook owners will be able to access and interact with some of their Android apps on the desktop of their laptop. Further, Chrome users will receive notifications pushed from their nearby Android devices to their laptop. The Android apps appear in a phone-sized window on the desktop. The new capability will be reserved to Android devices running the L release, which is expected to arrive this fall.
