Reports today indicate that Sprint Nextel is close to completing a deal to be the wireless partner for the US's three largest cable companies. Comcast, Time Warner and Cox are all considering selling Sprint service as part of their "triple play" bundles of TV, internet and phone service. Cable companies can offer home phone service using VOIP technology like Vonage, however offering cellular phone could be complementary or even preferable to VOIP service. If these deals are signed, they could yield a large increase in the number of Sprint Nextel subscribers, especially if the companies offer discounts to users signing up for bundles.

Unbelievable!
God****it, having Nextel and Brighthouse Networks there still will be no way to integrate them into one bill!!! With this whole spin-off of Sprint from Sprint-Nextel I can't add it on to my landline bill either... Not to mention the strike that's going on... Maybe it is time to go VoIP?

"Triple Play"
I don't quite understand the obsessoin with "triple play" bundles. Consumers could care less. In this overextended world, they dispise aggregate billing. Multiple smaller bills are always better than one large bill -- especially when some pick and choose which ones they will not pay at a particular time.
Consumers are smart enough to know that the company is clumping random products together. Qwest does this already, and everyone knows they do not operate a satellite system or a cellular system anymore.
Some people may find it easier to just not pay one large bill instead of three smaller ones.... 😁
many customers prefer one bill so they wont forget to pay one service.. the more services you have = the more discounts you get. who else has home phone, long distance, tv (dish), and dsl for ~$99? true its not pointed for the power users of each cat...

VoIP?
Somebody tell me what "VoIP" is. I see the ads alot and it just looks like a cordless landline phone that has several sets you can put around the house with each having their own charger. We have the same thing but its from Radioshack. Same thing, right?
VoIP = Voice over IP
Also known as an internet phone, allows you to use your internet provider as a phone line. Obviously, it only really makes sense for cable modems.
If you have Vonage, which is what RS carries, you have VoIP. There is a c...
