Nokia and MIT To Collaborate On Research

Nokia and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) will open a research facility together at MIT. The facility will be staffed with about 20 researchers from Nokia and an equal number from CSAIL. The researches will be directed to explore new interfaces that focus on speech or other modalities, new ways phones can be integrated into the information ecosystem, and new technological platforms for computing and communication. Nokia and other phone makers have researchers around the world, but this is one of the first where researchers from a company and a university will work side by side.
