Brightpoint, the nation's largest mobile phone distributor, is set to launch a chain of mobile phone stores. The distributor has opened their first Fono Wireless store outside of Indianapolis, and will license the brand to retailers who want to own and operate their own Fono stores. Brightpoint will leverage their strength as a distributor to set up these stores, which sets the company up to compete with their own customers - wireless retailers. In addition to selling cellular phones and service, Fono will sell additional wireless services like Vonage phone service and Sirius satellite radio.
