Nokia and Kyocera Agree To Play Nice
Jan 10, 2006, 3:54 PM by (staff)
Nokia and Kyocera today settled a patent battle that the two have been fighting for over a year. The two companies each hold patents to certain aspects of chipsets for a number of protocols, especially Asia-centric ones. Under the terms of the mutual agreement, Kyocera will pay Nokia to license certain patents relating to PHS, PDC and CDMA. In turn, Nokia will be licensed for Kyocera's patents when used in phones, modems or base stations regardless of protocol.
