Google Maps Improves Local Transit Accuracy and Availability
Jun 2, 2015, 3:00 PM by Eric M. Zeman
Google today improved Google Maps by expanding the number of regions in which it offers local transit directions. Google added real-time transit info from 25 new partners across six new areas, including the U.K., Netherlands, Budapest, Chicago, San Francisco, and Seattle. Navigators in these cities will see enriched transit times for trains, buses, and subways. It can alert riders to cancelled or changed routes, and lets riders know when the next bus or train is set to arrive. Straphangers and other commuters will be able to use these improved local transit features without updating the app.
