Skype Debuts 'Click to Call' On Mobile
Jun 3, 2015, 9:14 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Skype today made a new desktop browser plugin available that lets users send phone numbers to their Android smartphone for calling. The Click to Call feature is already available to Skype's desktop apps. It highlights numbers on web pages and makes it easy to place Skype calls right from the browser. Skype Click to Call for mobile works in similar fashion, but instead sends the selected number to the Skype app on the person's mobile device. Users can then pick up their phone, swipe and start the call without having to type in any numbers. The feature is being offered as a beta to the Android platform first. Skype said Click to Call for mobile will be added to other platforms over time.
