SanDisk today introduced the Ultra II Mobile line of high-end flash memory cards for mobile phones, with faster read and write speeds, as well as longer warranty periods than standard flash memory cards. The new line includes the microSD, miniSD and Memory Stick PRO Duo formats. Ultra II cards have a minimum write speed of 9 megabytes (MB) per second and read speed of 10 MB/second. The added performance boosts transfer speeds when used with PCs, and may reduce the energy consumption on the batteries of certain phones. The cards will be available this spring in capacities ranging from 1GB to 4GB.
