Discover said it will allow its cardmembers to add their Discover card to Apple Pay beginning Sept. 16. Discover will reward cardmembers who add and use their card to Apple Pay with a 10% cashback bonus. Discover will reward customers with bonus cash on up to $10,000 worth of purchases made through the end of 2015. Moreover, Discover It Miles and Miles And Escape members will receive an extra 10 miles per dollar spent through Apple Pay on up to $10,000 in purchases. Discover said cardmembers' data will be protected through Apple Pay's unique transaction codes. Discover cardholders will need to upgrade to iOS 9 before adding their card. Discover's main competitors, MasterCard and Visa, have long supported Apple Pay, which launched October of last year.
