EPIX today said customers who use its mobile application will soon be able to download movies and television shows for playback when offline. Offline play will be made available to Amazon's Kindle Fire-branded devices and all Apple and Android mobile devices. EPIX, a stand-alone video service that is also included in some cable TV packages, said its most popular on-demand content, such The Hunger Games, James Bond, and Star Trek, will be included. The feature will arrive via an app update later this month.
