Facebook is preparing to unveil a button that allows users to "dislike" posts, articles, and other content, according to CEO Mark Zuckerberg. "People have asked about the 'dislike' button for many years, and probably hundreds of people have asked about this," said Zuckerberg during a live Q&A session. "Today is a special day because today is the day that I actually get to say we are working on it, and are very close to shipping a test of it." The button won't be for haters; rather, it is meant to help people express empathy. "What [people] really want is an ability to express empathy," continued Zuckerberg. "If you're expressing something sad, it may not feel comfortable to 'like' that post, but your friends and people want to be able to express that they understand." Zuckerberg didn't say when the button may go live.
