Nokia today confirmed that after several delays, many of its hotly awaited smartphones are finally set to ship. The first few to arrive will not be headed for the US, but the schedule has some news for Americans too. After months of software problems with Windows Media files, Nokia's N91 music phone is finally set to arrive in Europe this week. A few weeks after, the N71 and N80 will also ship abroad. Later this year, a version of the N80 is expected on Cingular. The eSeries smartphones are also delayed due to complications with the many email clients. Nokia has not announced an official ship date for any of these handsets yet, but has states that the e61 is set to ship first. The e61, e62 and e70 models are all expected in the US, but no carrier has announced if or when they will launch them.

Better Late than...

I am disappointed that their introduction is late but if they get the software applications done well, it will be worth it. The headache of a buggy first release can greatly diminish the overall future of the product. I can't wait to see the Cingular version of the N80...
I hope they are an improvement over the Nokia 6101 and 02 series, they are the cheapest phones any company has put on the market.
