Apr 4, 2006, 3:07 PM by (staff)

Motorola today announced the i580, its most feature-packed ruggedized iDEN phone to date. Like many rugged iDEN phones, the i580 meets military specs blowing rain, dust, shock and vibration. Features include Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel camera, and a microSD memory card slot. The i580 also includes new PTT features, including "Push-to-Smart Replies" and "Push-to-Meet". Push-to-Smart Replies allows users to send a text message using PTT, while Push-to-Meet allows users to send Datebook reminders via PTT. The i580 is expected to be available in the 2nd quarter.
