Nov 17, 2015, 10:46 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Apple today made Apple Pay available to consumers in Canada. At launch, only cards issued by American Express are compatible with Apple Pay in Canada. The initial set of supporting retailers includes those that use American Express's wireless payment terminals. Some include McDonald's, Petro Canada, and Staples. Apple has not said if or when it will add the Visa or MasterCard payment networks to Apple Pay in Canada. Apple plans to launch Apple Pay via AmEx in Australia on Thursday. Apple Pay is already available through a healthy number of U.S. banks and retailers, with more on the way.
