Google Drive Update Makes It More Searchable
Dec 9, 2015, 5:22 PM by Eric M. Zeman
Google is adding new search powers to Google Drive for Android and iOS devices, as well as the web. Drive now lets users narrow searches to select file types or file owner. Google says advanced searches can check for date last modified, words contained in the file, or who the file was shared with. The iOS version of Drive adds support for 3D Touch on the iPhone 6s and Siri Search within iOS 9. Users can access recent files or search Drive without leaving the iOS home screen. Google didn't call out any specific new features for the Android version of Drive. The new search tools will reach Android, iOS, and the web versions of Google Drive in the weeks ahead. Google Drive is free to download and use.
