Google Hangouts Now Enables Peer-to-Peer Calls
Feb 8, 2016, 8:27 AM by Eric M. Zeman
The latest version of Google Hangouts allows mobile devices to establish a peer-to-peer connection when possible in order to improve the quality of phone calls. Older versions of Hangouts passed calls through Google's servers. Google says the direct connection is more efficient and offers a boost in audio and video quality. Google Hangouts is free to download from the Google Play Store.
