Google's AMP-lified Content to Be Prioritized In Mobile Search
Feb 24, 2016, 10:36 AM by Eric M. Zeman

Google today said people should see AMP'd content appear most prominently in mobile search. Google kicked of AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages Project) last year with the goal of improving web page load times on the mobile web. AMP uses HTML and other standards to let web publishers optimize their content for mobile so it renders quicker over wireless connections. Google says AMP'd content loads four times faster and uses one-tenth the data of non-optimized content. Google initially partnered with more than 30 publishers, but the number of publishers and amount of content had increased over time. AMP'd articles will appear in the Top Stories section of search results.
