Minor Update to Google Photos Enables Manual Backups
Apr 13, 2016, 7:28 AM by Eric M. Zeman

Google Photos for Android is receiving a small update today with a new feature: it allows people to manually push backups from the phone to the cloud. The idea is to give users more control over which photos are backed up and which aren't. Google Photos automatically backs up all photos on the phone, but the manual option makes it possible to select certain images for safekeeping. Google Photos is free to download from the Google Play Store.
