Intel Looking To Sell Mobile Chip Unit

Intel may be trying to sell off the unit responsible for chips for mobile and network devices. The Wall Street Journal and Mercury News have both reported Intel is approaching potential buyers as well as financial firms that may help Intel spin the unit off like Motorola did with Freescale. Intel entered the mobile chip business buy purchasing the StrongArm processor and its designers from DEC less than 10 years ago. The chipmaker has been looking at exiting certain businesses in the face of increasing competition on all fronts. It is possible Intel could sell off other units instead if those are more attractive to buyers.

Me thinks they are wanting to focus on their core business.... since every year AMD chips(haha pun) away at their market share in the server, mobile and desktop markets.
AMD will eventually own Intel. No doubt about it. 🤣
