Google Opens Up Daydream VR to All Developers

Google has made it possible for more developers to create Daydream virtual reality applications for Android devices. Before this week, the necessary tools were limited to a few select Google partners. Now, any developer can publish a Daydream application on the Google Play Store. Daydream apps are called out in a specific section of the Play Store to help make them more visible. The move should eventually lead to a greater selection of virtual reality apps for Google's Daydream platform. Daydream is available to a limited selection of devices right now, including the Google Pixel and Pixel XL, and Motorola Moto Z Droid and Z Force Droid. More Daydream-compatible handsets are expected to arrive this year.
