YouTube today said users will soon be able to stream video live from their mobile phones. The video site already supports live streaming from PCs, and YouTube first promised to bring live streaming to phones last summer. The company has been testing live streaming with select content creators for months to tweak quality, controls, and social interactions when live. YouTube says the feature will first reach accounts that have 10,000 or more subscribers. The feature is simple to use, people need only begin capturing video directly through the YouTube app to go live. YouTube is also introducing Super Chat, a way for viewers and fans to make their comments stand out to content creators. Viewers will have to pay for this added visibility, allowing creators to earn some extra cash. Google says mobile live streaming will reach regular users over time.
