Samsung has begun selling a new Ultra edition slider in Europe that upgrades the D900 Carbon to HSDPA speeds. The Z720 is the first 3G Ultra edition to go on sale in the West. It is a tri-band (900/1800/1900) GSM/EDGE phone with WCDMA 2100. The Z720 is a 13.8mm thick slider and has many of the same features as its 2G predecessor including a 3 Megapixel autofocus camera, stereo Bluetooth, Micro SD slot and QVGA screen. It also adds new applications including a Google icon in the menu for one click access to Google mobile search and Gmail.
