Instagram to Let Users Download Their Content

Instagram, which is owned by Facebook, is preparing a tool that will eventually make it simpler for users to download all the photos, videos, messages, and other content they've uploaded to the imaging-based social network. "We are building a new data portability tool," said Instagram in an email to Reuters. Specifics concerning how the tool might work and when it might be released were not revealed. The news arrives as Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg spent the last two days answering Congress' questions on Capitol Hill in the fallout of the Cambridge Analytica scandal. The social network has taken steps the last few weeks to ensure users have easier access to and control over their own data.
