Feb 8, 2007, 2:15 PM by (staff)
Nokia will release its mapping and navigation application for free to S60 and Windows Mobile users this weekend. Using a GPS enabled phone, or a phone connected to a Bluetooth GPS receiver, smart2go will let users see where they are on a map, search for points of interest (sights, restaurants, hotels) and create directions to them in over 150 countries. Users will be able to pay to upgrade the application with turn by turn directions and city guides. Smart2go is included on the GPS enabled N95 as Nokia Maps and will come on future S60 phones as well. Nokia plans to offer smart2go on most major mobile OS platforms (S60, S40, PocketPC and Linux) in the near future.
