SIM Technology from Samsung to Bridge the Gap

Samsung introduced new SIM card technology today will support the current MMC (MultiMediaCard) standard interface and both the USB 2.0 and InterChip-USB interfaces. It hasn't been decided which USB interface will be settled upon as the new standard, so this SIM card technology gives mobile operators and SIM card makers a lot of flexibility in building future services that are compatible with both the old and new standards. Controlled by a separate microprocessor that has its own RAM, the S-SIM automatically configures itself to whichever interface it detects, allowing instant support for advanced services like near-field communications.
