Google is updating Google Calendar with new tools for those who use it for work. Google is making it easier for people to take control of their down time with new vacation notifications and work hour scheduling. Users can clearly mark when they'll be unavailable for meetings and other events using the out of office toggle. Google Calendar will automatically decline meeting invitations that coincide with time marked out of office. Users have more control over out of office messages, as well. Further, people can set their working hours to protect personal time from being infringed by work. For example, an office worker can schedule their daily hours from 8am to 6pm and Google Calendar will show that person as unavailable for meetings or events outside of that block. The tool lets people set customized work hours for each day separately, if they wish. These tools, part of Google's digital wellbeing initiative, are being rolled out to all users over the next few days.
