Google Integrates Smart Home Security and Google Assistant

Google has made it easier for people to control and manage their smart home security products via Google Assistant. New integrations with security lights and indoor/outdoor cameras can, for example, let people turn on those outdoor lights and view a live video feed on their Chromecast-equipped television set by asking their Assistant. Google Assistant now also works with a number of smart locks from Nest and Yale Lock that will allow people to use their voice to lock or unlock doors. Last, Assistant now plays nicely with home security systems from ADT, Honeywell, and Nest in order to provide real-time alerts to mobile phones when an alarm goes off. Google says people will need to configure these behaviors through the Google Home app on their phone.
