Google Exec Says Company Is Working On Phone

The head of Google's Spanish and Portuguese operations, Isabel Aguilera, has confirmed that company engineers are working on a phone in their 20% time - the time Google allows engineers to work on their own projects. The phone Aguilera describes is a handset designed to give people in developing countries access to Google's services. This appears to be separate from the phone project analysts and others have suggested the company is working on at its Silicon Valley headquarters. That device is said to be the product of Android and other mobile technology firms the company has purchased in the past few years.
