A new phone available in Japan uses onboard AI to detect nudity, and prevent users from taking or saving photos with nudity. The Tone e20 is an affordable Android phone aimed at parents who want to protect their children from "being deceived or threatened to photograph their own nudity, etc." The phone works to detect nudity in both photo and video camera modes, and prevents the saving of images with nudity. When nudity is detected, an alert can be sent to parents with the time, date, and location of the event, as well as a pixelated thumbnail of the offending image. The phone includes other parental controls and family-safety features. It is only available in Japan.
