Nokia Announces New Luxury Slider
May 31, 2007, 12:02 PM by (staff)
Nokia today announced a new high end phone that softens the long running 8000 series sliders with smoky glass and gentle lighting. The 8600 Luna has a form similar to the 8801 sold in the US last year, however the front cover of the slide is now glass instead of metal, and the phone itself has been updated to quad-band GSM/EDGE, a 2 Megapixel camera, and a QVGA display. The Luna also includes Bluetooth, a 2.5mm audio jack, and is one of the first Nokias to combine charging and data into a MicroUSB port - which Motorola has recently switched to as well.

Is it just me, or. . .
1 gb of internal storage? That's kinda cool, as is the 3.2 autofocus camera on the Slide. Now if they added S60 and/or 3G, that'd be neato. Or even better, if they made such a device with US 3G. Or even better than that, if they took my N75 as a trade in for such a device. ๐
But yeah - 8600: really expensive for no reason. ๐คจ ๐ ๐ณ
But right, still not worth it. hopefully Nokia will get the messen...

Heck the N95 costs less than a $1,000, and that is far more feature packed!
I'd never pay a $1,000 for any phone, I've paid $50 for mine though, and I'm happy with it.
Does it still have the two little peanut batteries?
Bring back the 8860 and 8890!!!
awesome
wonder how expensive this is going to be... $800?
Rich - Any word on those other two phones released?

They both seem pretty impressive.
I'm curious about the price of this as well. I thought I read so...
