Signal Adds Face-Blur Tool

Secure messaging app Signal is adding a new tool that lets users blur faces in photos before sharing them. When activated, it automatically detects faces and blurs them. It also lets you manually blur any part of the photo, to cover faces the automatic tool may have missed, or mask other identifying information. This adds to the privacy tools of an app that is already known for being highly focused on privacy and security. The update with this feature has already been submitted to the major app stores and should be available soon. Signal says the feature was rolled out to support people who are currently self-organizing, marching, and protesting against racism and police brutality in the US.
