Trimble has launched a new, high-accuracy location solution for phones based on Qualcomm's top-end Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 888 chips. Trimble's RTX GNSS technology provides correction services that improve the accuracy of location data from GPS and other location data sources. Using RTX, phones can achieve meter-level accuracy, "a 5x improvement in location accuracy compared to typical accuracy available today." Trimble already works with Qualcomm to integrate RTX into Qualcomm's automotive solutions, where it provides lane-level guidance. Now it will be available to phone makers to include in flagship Android phones starting in the second quarter of 2022.
