Sprint Users Can Soon Find Friends

Sprint will launch Loopt location sharing service on its CDMA network in the next few weeks. Loopt allows users to share their GPS location with a pre-approved list of friends. The application also includes mapping of status messages and photos, which can be used to create a quick location based blog for friends. The carrier already offers Loopt on Boost iDEN handsets, however with the shift to fixed-price CDMA calling, Boost is no longer Sprint's youth-focused network. The service will cost $3 per month and will be available on about 20 handsets. Helio, an MVNO that also operates on Sprint's network offers a similar Buddy Beacon for free.

Again people is missing the whole point of this app.
when I said a "list of friends" i didn't mean the cellphone directory. Inside the GPS application you will have a "list" where you can add people to share positions. It will no be enough to add you...

I normally have nothing good to say about sprint...

But $3 buck a month for GPS service w/the locator is a great deal.

Verizon is $10 for GPS and Send My Location.

Uhhh they are definitely not the same thing, hence comparing them is apples to oranges.

Why would you want someone to know your exact location all the time?

Talk about parents who are way over protective, this is a dream come true. Or how about that crazy ex-girlfriend?

I personally, would never have this on my phone. I need privacy sometimes!

Its Not Like

You Couldn't Disable your gps feed! It wouldn't be like everyone alll the time could see you! Im sure only people you want to see can see it, and that you can disable it when you want privacy!

😎 ADVANCED FAMILY LOCATOR, but with out having to have the family! HAHA...Will be pretty cool to auto send messages to friends saying Im near! I wouldn't want to check up on my hoes, just let them know Im in the area and to have my money ready! HAHA!
