Aug 15, 2007, 12:40 PM by (staff)

The FCC today approved a new phone from Firefly, maker of a GSM handset for children. The flyPhone has a similar shape as the original Firefly, but is larger as it adds a number of grown up features such as a color screen, keypad, camera and MicroSD slot. In addition to these features, the flyPhone has a keypad of dark flexible plastic that lights up with different configurations depending on what mode the phone is in. Like the original, it is a dual band GSM handset.
