Arm Plans to Put AI in its GPUs

Arm has announced plans to embed neural accelerators directly in its graphics cores in future chip architectures. This will enable game developers to boost graphics performance and/or efficiency using new generative AI techniques. These include Neural Super Sampling (NSS) — a kind of resolution upscaling — and later on, neural frame doubling and de-noising. This technology is still a way off, as Arm won't even announce specific architectures with this technology until next year. But Arm is revealing it now to give game developers time to plan and prepare.
