Qualcomm has unveiled the fourth generation of its Snapdragon 7s chip to power upper-mid-range phones. It offers a 7% boost in CPU and GPU (graphics) performance, while keeping most of the same specs and features as the previous Gen 3 chip. The 7s sits between the 6 and 7 in the Snapdragon chip lineup. The 8 series powers flagship models, while the 7 series is for "affordable flagships". Like the 7s Gen3, the new chip supports on-device generative AI, multi-language translation and transcription, and AI-based noise cancellation and reduction. It also includes a triple ISP that can process data from up to three active cameras at once.
