Broadcom Loads Four Radios Onto Single Chip

Broadcom announced a new chipset for mobile phones that combines four radios onto a single die. It includes HSPA (EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA and HSUPA), Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, FM receiver and FM transmitter all on one small chip. It also includes a fast processor that can handle 5 Megapixel cameras as well as TV out at 30 frames per second. Broadcom expects the chip to appear in high-end feature phones and smartphones.
