Verizon Wireless World Edition Lineup Adds Motorola Z6c

Today Verizon announced that the Motorola Z6c World Edition slider will go on sale starting December 12. The Z6c is similar in most respects to the Z6tv, but drops the V CAST Mobile TV capability for world-wide roaming. It has both CDMA/EV-DO and GSM radios on board so customers can roam when traveling overseas. It has a 2 Megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth, QVGA screen and supports microSD cards up to 4GB. Verizon's international roaming rates will be either $1.29 or $2.49 per minute depending on which country you are calling from. Text messages will cost 25 cents each. The Z6c will be available for $179 after $50 rebate and new agreement.

T-Mobile has launched updated versions of its REVVL 6 series of affordable 5G phones. The new REVVL 6x 5G and REVVL 6x Pro 5G are similar to their predecessors, with a few upgrades like double the storage (now 128 GB on the 6x and 256 GB on the 6x Pro).

International Data Roaming?

Will this device use GPRS or EDGE while roaming overseas?? Verizon's website only says the following:

Dual Network Capability for International Travel:
CDMA/1xRTT/EVÃ¢â‚¬“DO (Domestic); GSM (International)

i dont know much about GSM, but it would probably be the equivalent of the 1xRTT WAP browsing on a CDMA phone, but on the GSM side.

probably uses GPRS for data over seas but who knows.

Verizon is only promising calling and two-way texting capabilities in GSM areas, which would neither require GPRS nor EDGE. All of the other data features, including Mobile Web and picture messaging, are listed on their web page as CDMA only. Thus, I ...
