Qualcomm Acquires SoftMax

Today Qualcomm announced that it has agreed to buy SoftMax for an undisclosed sum. SoftMax designs noise reduction technology, specifically echo cancellation, signal separation and signal processing. Its algorithms help improve voice quality and separate it from background noise during phone calls. With this purchase Qualcomm will be able to incorporate this technology into its own chip designs.
