OpenMoko Announces Mass Market Version of the Neo
Jan 3, 2008, 10:10 AM by Eric M. Zeman
The Neo FreeRunner is an update to last year's open source Neo 1973. It will come in two versions. Both will be tri-band, one 850/1800/1900 and the other 900/1800/1900. The Neo FreeRunner will look similar to the original, but brings in a number of hardware improvements, including a faster 500 MHz processor, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, better graphics support and motion sensors to allow user input based on movement of the phone. It will be preloaded with mobile applications created by the open source developer community and should be available to developers this Spring.
